Hayeli

Hayeli is the project of Khachatur Savzyan and Donna Khalifé, including two double basses and vocals . Hayeli, mirror in armenian, is a musical proposition for a more transparent, honest, humble approach of writing , playing and improvising in a rare line up reflecting inner and outer states .

Hayeli sets are mostly free improvised sets with occasional guests joining them. Hayeli will release their first album by the end of 2024.

Lotus Duo /Trio/Quartet

This duo with Donna on vocals and Khachatur Savzyan on double bass performs finely picked tunes from jazz, brazilian, folk and other repertoires interpreted in a very intimate format yet with much liberty and openness .Khachatur Savzyan is a double bass player who started his musical career in Armenia and played with the best local jazz figures there and in Lebanon. In both countries, they extend to a trio or a quartet adding drums, piano, guitar or sax.

Donna Khalifé and Khouloud Yassine

Arriving on stage without any preliminary idea of what to do is the main idea of this duo that combines dance and music . Initiated by these 2 long date friends in 2013 , Yassine and Khalife have been working on an improvised performance that was presented in june 2014..since then the duo moves forward towards the unpredictable to explore the infinite layers of improvised dialogue between dance and music.

With Collectif Kahraba

Founded in 2007, Collectif Kahraba is a performing arts company comprising artists and technicians from different walks of life who firmly believe that art is a pathway for dialogue and openness. Donna collaborates with the collectif in three different performances “Ce murmure dans la nuit du monde” (2018) as a live performer, mask and puppet manipulator, “Cabaret Migrant” (2022) for the music creation and live performer , “ Geologie d’une fable” 2nd version (2022) as a live performer .

Donna Khalifé trio/quartet

Donna performs in the most popular jazz venues in Beirut and it's always a time of re-encounters and pleasure with her friends and colleagues .From jazz standards, brazilian, funk ,re-arrangements, to originals, She performs with the best musicians in town, Raffi Mandalian, Arthur Satyan , Fouad Afra ..with whom her second album “ Hope is the thing with feathers” was recorded .

Donna and Vindla String Quartet

This Project started in December 2017 when Donna Khalife was invited to Femena festival in Malmo to have a 3 days residency with Vindla string Quartet and a concert. The collaboration was so natural, beautiful and fun so they decided to meet again , this time at Donna's place to share with the lebanese public , some Swedish folk, compositions of both ,Vindla String quartet and Donna Khalife , all especially arranged for the occasion . Vindla String quartet are featured in Donna's second album " Hope is the thing with feathers" and are currently working on a eventual upcoming tour in Sweden.

Donna khalifé quintet

This project features Pierre Tereygeol on guitar, Philippe Lopes de Sa on saxophones, Florent Corbou on electric bass, Khaled Yassine on drums and Donna Khalifé on vocals and double bass .It is the fruit of many musical and human encounters and it is a continuous research in music. The project characteristic is marrying written and freely improvised music in a coherent speech true to each one's experience..

The quintet released their first album with music written by Donna Khalifé In March 2017. 

Monsieur,Monsieur

A duo that features Dorothée Nodé Langlois on violin and Donna Khalifé on vocals and double bass. Two musicians coming from different musical backgrounds, brought together by common sensibilities and a joy of playing together.Travelling between written music, improvised ,arrangements , and original creations, this duo offers a large repertoire that goes from berio, aperghis,kurt weill to more contemporary composers like Frederic Norel among others.
